Chaos
This project aims to present a stage of chaos and destruction in the process of urban development. All the photos focus on ruins, abandoned houses, and waste materials. They are located in old neighbourhoods that are being demolished, and all the residents have been relocated. I once lived in a similar community during my childhood, and now most of them are gone. Such places are a vanishing part of the city land’s history. And demolition is a special stage of land development. The ultimate direction of city development is towards order and tidiness. But at this moment, these areas are in chaos and disorder, as the last glimpse of the fading lands which I think are usually neglected but worth recording and discovering. It represents the “deconstruction” side of constructing a city. This is an ongoing project, as I plan to revisit these places several times to create a timeline of the land development.
